When you register for a training, your registration may need to be approved first. This article explains how the approval flow works from your perspective as a user.
Requirements
- The training you are registering for must have an approval flow configured.
How does the approval flow work?
- You register for a training through the catalogue.
- Your registration receives the status Waiting for approval.
- Your manager and/or HR employee receive a notification to approve or reject your registration.
- You receive a notification as soon as your registration has been approved or rejected.
View the status of your registration
- Click your initials or profile picture in the top left.
- Click My profile.
- Go to the Trainings tab or view your outstanding registrations.
- Here you can see the current status of your registration.
Approval levels
Depending on the configuration, approval can consist of:
- Manager approval — Your direct manager must approve the registration. Your registration receives the status Waiting for manager approval.
- HR approval — The HR employee must approve the registration. Your registration receives the status Waiting for HRM approval.
- Both — Both the manager and HR employee must approve. Your registration shows both statuses until both parties have approved it.
Note: If HRM approval is required for a training but no HR employee has been assigned to your profile, you cannot register.

How long does it take for my registration to be approved?
This depends on how quickly your manager or HR employee processes the approval. They receive automatic reminders.
Can I cancel my registration while it is waiting for approval?
Yes, you can cancel your registration as long as it has not been approved. Go to your training overview and click the Bin icon.
What happens if my registration is rejected?
You receive a notification with any explanation provided. You can submit a new request or contact your manager.
What if my training requires both manager and HRM approval?
Both parties must approve your registration. Once both approvals have been given, the status changes to Registered and you receive a confirmation.
