Required certificates per function specify which certificates employees with a particular function must obtain. As soon as a user is linked to a function, the required certificates automatically appear on the Competency tab of the user profile.
Requirements
- You need administrator rights to configure required certificates per function.
- The functions must already have been created via Administration > Job framework > Functions.
- The certificate definitions must already exist in the system.
Set required certificates
- Go to Administration > Job framework > Functions.
- Click the edit icon next to the function for which you want to set certificates.
- Go to the Required certificates tab.
- Click Add to mark a certificate as required.
- Select the desired certificate from the list.
- Click Save.
The certificate now appears as required for all users linked to this function.
View required certificates
On the Required certificates tab of the function, you see an overview of:

| Certificate | The name of the required certificate. |
| Category | The category of the certificate. |
| Type | The type (certificate, designation or authorisation). |
Remove a required certificate
- Open the function via Administration > Job framework > Functions.
- Go to the Required certificates tab.
- Select the certificate you want to remove.
- Click Delete.
Note: Removing a required certificate from a function immediately affects the compliance status of all users with that function. The certificate is no longer shown as required in their profiles.
Report
You can request an overview of all required certificates per function through the report:
- Go to Reports > Certificates > Function required certificates.

Are existing users updated automatically when I add a certificate to a function?
Yes, all users linked to the function automatically receive the certificate as a requirement in their profile.
What happens if a user has multiple functions?
The required certificates for all functions are stacked. The user must meet all requirements for all their functions.

Yes, you can also set required certificates at function group level. The requirements are stacked: function group plus function.
