In addition to requirements at function and project level, you can set up personally required certificates for individual users. This is useful when a specific employee needs additional certificates that are not normally associated with the function or project.
Requirements
- You need the Admin_tab_$$compliance$$_personal right to set up personally required certificates.
- The certificate definitions must already exist in the system.
Add personally required certificates
- Go to the user profile via Actions > Actions > Search for user.
- Search for the user and click the pencil icon to edit the user profile.
- Go to the Competency tab.
- Click the Personally required subtab.
- Click Add to mark a certificate as personally required.
- Select the desired certificate from the list.
- Click Save.
View personally required certificates
On the Personally required subtab, you see an overview of all personally required certificates, including:

| Certificate | The name of the required certificate. |
| Status | Whether the certificate has been obtained, has expired or is still missing. |
| Validity | The expiry date of the obtained certificate, if applicable. |
Remove a personally required certificate
- Open the user profile.
- Go to Competency > Personally required.
- Select the certificate and click Delete.
Note: Removing a personally required certificate means that it is no longer included in the user's compliance calculation.
Stacking requirements
Personally required certificates are added on top of requirements resulting from:
- Function group — Requirements that apply to all functions in the group.
- Function — Requirements that specifically apply to the user's function.
- Project — Requirements that apply to all members of a project.
- Personal — Additional individual requirements.
The user must meet all stacked requirements to be marked as compliant.
Frequently asked questions
Can a user add personally required certificates themselves?
No, only an administrator, manager or HR employee with the appropriate rights can set up personally required certificates.
Are personally required certificates included in reports?
Yes, personally required certificates are included in compliance reports such as Required certificates and Missing certificates.
What is the difference between personally required and function-required?
Function-required certificates apply automatically to all users with that function. Personally required certificates apply only to the individual user for whom they are set up.
