In addition to SCORM packages, you can upload video content and link it to trainings. Video content can be used as supplementary learning material or as a standalone digital session.
Requirements
- You need administrator rights to manage digital content.
- The video must be in a supported format, such as MP4.
Create a video as a content item
- Go to Management > Content management > Manage digital content.
- Find the content folder where you want to place the video, or create a new folder.
- Click Add content and select Video.
- Add a video using a Link (YouTube or Vimeo only) or by uploading a File (MP3 or MP4 only).
- Complete the fields, such as the name and code.
- Click Save.
Link a video to a training
How you link video content to a training depends on the training type.
For a "To watch" training definition
- Go to Planning > Trainings > Definitions and open the To watch training definition.
- Go to the Content tab for this definition.
- Click Add content.
- Add a video using a Link (YouTube or Vimeo only) or by adding a File (MP3 or MP4 only).
- Click Add training to link a training to this training definition. This only applies if the training has not yet been created.
For a "Direct Learning" training definition
- Go to Planning > Trainings > Definitions and open the Direct Learning training definition.
- Go to the Content tab for this definition.
- Click Edit e-learning items.
- Select the video content item and click Save.
- Click Add training to link a training to this training definition. This only applies if the training has not yet been created.
For an "E-learning" training definition
- Go to Planning > Trainings > Definitions and open the E-learning training definition.
- Go to the Content tab for this definition.
- Click Edit e-learning items.
- Select the video content item and click Save.
- Click Add training to link a training to this training definition. This only applies if the training has not yet been created.
Video results
For video content, the system records whether a participant has watched the video. Progress is registered automatically.
Note: No score is recorded for video content. Use a SCORM package or test if you want to record a score.
Frequently asked questions
Can I replace a video without configuring the session again?
Yes, you can change the linked content by selecting another video through Content for this definition. The session settings remain unchanged.
Are videos streamed or downloaded?
Videos are streamed from the portal. Participants do not need to download the file to watch it.
Can I use an external video URL instead of an upload?
This depends on the configuration. Contact your administrator for information about the available external video sources.
