Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account. In addition to your password, you need an extra code to log in. This article explains how to set up 2FA.
Requirements
- You are logged in to the portal.
- You have an authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.
Enable two-factor authentication
- Click your initials or profile picture in the top right of the screen.
- Click My profile.
- Go to the Details tab and find the security settings.
- Click Enable two-factor authentication.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app.
- Enter the verification code shown in the app.
- Click Confirm.
Note: Store the recovery codes in a safe place. You can use them to log in if you no longer have access to your authenticator app.
Log in with two-factor authentication
- Enter your email address and password on the login page.
- Open your authenticator app.
- Enter the six-digit code.
- Click Log in.
Disable two-factor authentication
- Go to your profile.
- Go to the security settings.
- Click Disable two-factor authentication.
- Confirm the action.
Note: Disabling 2FA reduces the security of your account. Only do this when necessary.
Frequently asked questions
What if I lose my phone?
Use one of the recovery codes you saved when setting up 2FA. Contact your administrator if you no longer have any recovery codes.
Is two-factor authentication mandatory?
This depends on your organisation's settings.
Can I use a different authenticator app?
Yes, any app that supports TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) works with the portal.
