Configure areas of activity and accreditation methods

Areas of activity and accreditation methods help classify accreditation points. Areas of activity indicate the field to which the points relate. Accreditation methods describe how the points were obtained, for example through classroom training, e-learning or self-study.

Requirements

  • You need the accreditation_Admin_Area of activity right to manage areas of activity.
  • You need the accreditation_Admin_Method right to manage accreditation methods.

Add an area of activity

  1. Go to Administration > General administration > Accreditation > Areas of activity.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Enter the following information:

Name The name of the area of activity. Yes
Code A unique code for the area of activity. No
Description An explanation of the area of activity. No
  1. Click Save.

Add an accreditation method

  1. Go to Administration > General administration > Accreditation > Methods.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Enter the following information:
Field Description Required
Name The name of the accreditation method. Yes
Code A unique code for the method. No
  1. Click Save.

Edit an area of activity or method

  1. Go to the overview of areas of activity or methods.
  2. Click the edit icon next to the item you want to change.
  3. Change the details and click Save.

When setting accreditation points on a training definition, you can select an area of activity for each accreditation organisation. This shows which field the accreditation points relate to.

  1. Open the training definition.
  2. Go to the Accreditation tab.
  3. Select the desired area of activity for the accreditation organisation.
  4. Click Save.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change areas of activity afterwards?

Yes, you can edit areas of activity at any time. Existing links are updated with the new name.

What is the difference between an area of activity and an accreditation method?

An area of activity describes the field to which the accreditation points relate, such as “Tax law” or “Safety”. An accreditation method describes how the points were obtained, such as “Classroom” or “E-learning”.

Are areas of activity required when awarding accreditation points?

No, areas of activity are optional. You can award accreditation points without specifying an area of activity.
