If you have already obtained a certificate outside the portal, you can request an exemption. This indicates that you already possess the required competence without having to retake the training. This article explains how to request an exemption.
Conditions
- The right $$User add exemption$$ must be activated in the user's permission group.
- Required certificates must be configured for your role.
- If the certificate definition specifies that a manager/HR officer must approve the certificate, a request will first be made to approve the exemption. If this approval is not set, the exemption will be granted immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can an exemption be requested for every certificate?
Yes, but the admin can enable or disable certificates (and categories) for which employees can request an exemption. You do this via Admin --> General admin --> Admin authorisation groups, where you edit the user's permission group. Here you will find a tab called 'Assign Exemptions'. Through this tab, you specify for which certificates employees in that permission group may or may not request an exemption.
What if an exemption is rejected?
The employee receives a notification with a possible explanation. The employee can then register for the corresponding training or contact the manager.
How long is an exemption valid?
The validity of an exemption is the same as the validity of the corresponding certificate. After expiry, you must follow the training or request a new exemption.
