When you sign up for a training, your registration may need to be approved first. In this article, you will read how the approval flow works from your perspective as a user.
Conditions
- The training you are signing up for has an approval flow set up.
How does the approval flow work?
- You register for a training via the catalogue.
- Your registration status becomes Waiting for approval.
- Your manager and/or HR staff receive a notification to approve or reject your registration.
- You receive a notification once your registration has been approved or rejected.
Viewing the status of your registration
- Click on your initials or profile picture at the top left.
- Click on My profile.
- Go to the Trainings tab or view your pending registrations.
- Here you will see the current status of your registration.
Approval levels
Depending on the configuration, the approval may consist of:
- Manager approval — Your direct supervisor must approve the registration. Your registration status will be Waiting for manager approval.
- HR approval — The HR staff must approve the registration. Your registration status will be Waiting for HR approval.
- Both — Both the manager and HR staff must approve. Your registration will show both statuses until both parties have approved.
Note: If HR approval is required for a training but no HR staff member is assigned to the employee’s profile, the registration cannot be completed.

How long does it take for my registration to be approved?
This depends on how quickly your manager or HR staff processes the approval. They receive automatic reminders.
Can I cancel my registration while it is waiting for approval?
Yes, you can cancel your registration as long as it has not yet been approved. Go to your training overview and click the Trash icon.
What if my registration is rejected?
You will receive a notification with an explanation. You can submit a new request or contact your manager.
What if my training requires both manager and HR approval?
Both parties must approve your registration. Once both approvals are given, the status changes to Enrolled and you will receive a confirmation.
