The homepage is the first page users see after logging in to PlusPort. Via Management > Homepage you can configure the homepage and adapt it to the needs of your organisation.
You need administrator rights to configure the homepage. Go to Management > Homepage to open the sites overview.
Overview
Homepage management consists of three levels:
- Sites — a homepage configuration that you can publish
- Pages — each site contains one or more pages
- Widgets — the content building blocks on a page (text, images, data widgets, etc.)
Managing sites
Creating a new site
Click the New homepage button (top right) to create an empty site. You can have a maximum of 30 sites published at the same time.
Site options
Via the dropdown menu next to a site you have the following options:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Edit | Open the site in the editor to modify pages and widgets. |
| Settings | Set a display name per language. |
| Publish / Unpublish | Make the site visible or invisible for users. A site must contain at least one page to be published. |
| Preview | View how the site looks for end users. |
| Visibility | Set restrictions to determine which user (groups) can see the site. |
| Share | Share the site with friend portals so they can reuse it. A shared site cannot be set as default. |
| Default | Set the site as the default homepage. Only available on the main portal. A shared site cannot be set as default. |
| Delete | Delete the site. This is only possible if the site is not published and not shared. |
Adjusting the order
You can change the order of sites by dragging them via the drag icon to the left of the site name.
Friend portals
Sites shared with you by a friend portal appear in the list with a grey background. You can view (preview) these sites, but not edit them.
Pages
Each site contains one or more pages. Pages are displayed in a list on the left side of the editor.
Page settings
Via the gear icon on a page you can configure the following options:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Fluid | The page adapts to the full width of the screen. Enabled by default. |
| Automatic grid | Widgets are automatically arranged without manual layout. |
| Compact | Minimises the space between widgets (only available when automatic grid is turned off). |
| Hide empty containers | Containers without content are not shown to users. |
| Automatic styling | Automatically apply the style based on the portal theme. |

Containers
Widgets are placed in containers. Containers determine how widgets are displayed.

Editor
Display mode
In the editor you can switch between two modes:
- Design — the editing mode in which you can add, move and configure widgets.
- Preview — view how the page looks for the end user.
Responsive design
The editor offers breakpoints to check how the page looks on different screen sizes:
| Breakpoint | Device |
|---|---|
| Responsive | Adapts automatically to the screen |
| xxs | Phone |
| xs | Tablet |
| sm | Desktop |
| md | Desktop large |
| lg | Desktop extra large |
| xl | Desktop maximum |
Data mode
While editing you can choose which data the widgets display:
- Live — real data of the logged-in user.
- Demo — sample data to test the layout.
- No data — widgets are shown empty.
Note: In Live mode, real data of the logged-in administrator is shown. Use Demo if you want to test the layout without production data.
Templates
When creating a new page you can choose from predefined templates (Template A, B and C). These templates offer a ready-made layout of containers and widgets that you can then customise to your needs.
